THE RESEARCH
174% strength gains in adults averaging 90 years old.
Fiatarone et al., New England Journal of Medicine, 1994. Structured progressive resistance training in adults averaging 90 years old.
THE METHOD
Able Years is structured, supervised strength, balance, and mobility coaching for adults 60+. Here’s what that looks like in practice — and how it compares to the common alternatives.
A Gym
A gym gives you a room full of equipment.
Average class size: 25 to 40 people. No intake assessment. No personalized plan. No progress tracking. If you stop going, nobody follows up. You are a membership number.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy fixes what is broken.
You get a licensed therapist and a clinical plan — but only for 8 to 12 visits. When your insurance runs out, treatment ends. There is no long-term strength program, no community, and no one checking in six months later.
Able Years
Able Years builds the strength that keeps you doing what you love.
You start with a one-on-one Strategy Session — a 45-minute movement assessment with your coach before your first class. Your coach learns your history, injuries, and starting level, then adjusts every class to your body. Classes are 10 people, same coach, same group, twice a week. Your progress is measured every 90 days and shared with your doctor. If you miss a session, your coach reaches out. If life gets in the way, your membership pauses instantly with no fee. This is not a 12-visit plan. This is a long-term partnership.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
Before your first group session, you sit down one-on-one with your coach. They learn your history, test your movement, and document exactly how every exercise needs to adjust for your body.
Same group every week. Same coach. Every exercise adjusted to your level. You are not a face in a crowd.
Your coach calls if you miss a week. Your group saves your spot. People are glad to see you walk in. This is not a gym — it is a team.
Every 90 days, a real assessment. Printed results you can hold in your hand. Shared with your doctor if you would like. You will see exactly how far you have come.
